Hi! I'm BryanSince 2009, I've helped hundreds of people from all over the world (on 4 continents and over 10 countries) to find inner peace by overcoming their fears and limiting beliefs by meeting their thoughts with understanding, through self-inquiry.
Or, as I like to say, by making friends with your thoughts. |
Yes, you can befriend your thoughts, even the ones that cause...
Perhaps you've been struggling with something stressful, and you've tried traditional psychotherapy, or read a lot of self-help books, but nothing really got to the root of your stress or resolved a painful situation.
And because all those things didn't work out you have given up on trying something new...
Well, don't give up just yet!
I used to be a seeker of happiness - I tried to find it by acquiring more material possessions, and from reaching goals and accomplishments.
And don't forget seeking approval from others! I thought my own happiness depended on other people liking or loving me... from friends, lovers, family members, bosses, clients, and even complete strangers!
I was looking for peace and joy everywhere except the only place it really mattered... inside myself!
Thankfully, in 2008 everything changed for me...
I began to finally experience happiness pretty "effortlessly" on a regular basis.
All those self-help books and courses had plenty of interesting ideas and theories. But nothing felt practical enough to implement.
Then, I discovered a powerful process that I could easily practice in as little as 20 minutes a day.
It's got a kinda funny name... The Work of Byron Katie
I'll tell you all about it in just a moment!
It transformed my life so deeply that I felt compared to share it with others, so I started Meetup groups in Boulder and Denver, Colorado in 2009.
Through facilitating The Work for others, I've witnessed "miraculous" transformations in people's lives and relationships.
When nothing else worked, meditative self-inquiry broke through their fears and painful repetitive stressful thoughts.
And The Work works FAST! I've personally gone through group and individual therapy, and I can say it can work in a fraction of the time of traditional therapy - if you're open to it!
It does take some courage to face your fears head on...
And you need a deep curiosity to know your personal Truth.
You cannot effectively practice The Work with a motive for "getting something". Motives like that will activate your ego mind, and it's like an "off switch" when you're doing inquiry.
Many of my clients have said they tried therapy for years, and after just a few sessions of The Work, their lives improved - for good!
That said, if you're currently seeing a traditional therapist, it doesn't mean you should necessarily quit! The Work is a great companion to traditional therapy. All the "stories" that you surface through therapy sessions contain personal beliefs that you can take to The Work if you want to go deeper.
- unbearable sadness
- anger & frustration
- deep depression
- anxiety & panic attacks
- and conflict with others

See the world through fresh eyes...
If you're not experiencing suffering right now (whew!), Inquiry is also a powerful tool for self-realization!
It opens your mind to greater focus & clarity, unleashes your creativity and expands your empathy for others.
(It's like getting out of "The Matrix" and seeing the world through fresh eyes - present in every moment.)

As far back as I can remember, I've been fascinated by the mind!
As a teen, I played with ESP and taught myself Hypnosis.
Years later, I studied psychology at the University of Central Florida, and earned a Masters degree in Human Factors Psychology (the study of how humans interact with objects, interfaces, and environments).
In the field of Human Factors, my job was to design services and products to be user-friendly, by understanding the mindset of the people who would be using them. I traveled the world developing medical and consumer product interfaces, and later designed websites and software interfaces.
In graduate school, I was most interested in Mental Models (how people believe something works vs. how it actually functions).
I was also fascinated by Anthropomorphism - how people interact with objects as if they were people - for example, punishing or praising your computer, getting upset with autocorrect or yelling at Siri or Alexa.
I was also very interested in User Feedback - the lack of which causes frustration, because it requires the person interacting with the object or environment to create his or her own explanation of what happened.
As it turns out, this applies to human-to-human interactions as well because...
Perception IS your reality - and your belief system gets superimposed onto everything you perceive.
In every situation, there's what actually happened objectively, and then there's your story about what you perceived (your interpretation of the facts).
When you don't have the whole story, your mind fills in the gaps of your understanding with assumptions. These assumptions are based on your past experiences that appear to be related to the present situation.
When we cling to our unquestioned assumptions as the truth, our behaviors become influenced by inaccurate information. And your ego mind will often defend these beliefs to the death (of your joy).
The Work takes your stressful stories and turns them into breadcrumbs to lead you back home to clarity - aka "sanity".
Katie often says, "Confusion is the only suffering on this planet" - and I've noticed that's true in my life.
In my experience, The Work is the most simple, efficient, and effective method to overcome anxiety, fears, addictions, body issues, and relationship conflicts.
It really gets to the heart of the matter - our deep-seated fears and assumptions.
I have been practicing The Work daily since late-2008, and I consider it a way of life. Whenever stress arises in my life, I now know how to handle it on the spot!
By connecting with your truth in the moment you feel stressed, you become more self-aware, and can effortlessly return to experiencing joy and gratitude in the moment.
Some of the biggest things I've worked through and helped others with include:
These are just a few of the BIG ones!
